Since 2001, the top five oil companies in the United States have recorded profits
of $464 billion through the first quarter of 2007: ExxonMobil > $158.5
billion, Shell > $108.5 billion, BP > 89.2 billion, ChevronTexaco >
$60.9 billion, and ConocoPhillips > $46.9 billion. > How can
the oil executives live with themselves by profiting off of America by draining
their pockets dry as well as making it unsafe on the roads? Why unsafe?
These high gas prices are forcing everyone to buy smaller cars, which are
less safe then SUV's. Well, the same people who are behind the rising gas
prices probably have some kind of connection with the car industry, so it doesn't
matter to them!
I strongly believe that this problem is going
to get worse, not for America but for the oil executives, families of oil executives,
and possibly employees. Desperation may come into play and America
will have to figure out a solution to this oil and gas problem! How far
will we continue to get pushed? If the prices keep increasing, this could
become a matter of life or death, for America as well as the oil companies.
We need to come together to put an end to this! |
